New microphone cable from Reference Cables RMC-0-ZERO belonging to the 30 Anniversary series.
An evolution from its predecessor RMC 01 bringing a wide spectrum response giving full bodied sounds coupled with a special flavour on high mid frequencies as well as open and gentle very high frequencies!

Sistema Mi-Si Acoustic Trio
Introducing Mi-Si Acoustic Trio system featuring LR Baggs piezo pickup: it was introduced to me by Fabio Molinelli when we were planning the details for my custom acoustic solid body guitar.
Electronics and woods play an important role in determining the way a guitar will sound and this case was a very good one! I love the way the Mi-Si interacts with the natural characteristics of this guitar!
The audio recording for this video was done with: Reference Cables RIC 01 A (unbalanced cable for acoustic instruments), RMC S01 microphone cable, Reference passive DI box, TC Electronic Konnekt 24D audio card, Presonus Studio One 4 Daw.
Guitars in this video have been very slightly equalized (they are actually close to flat..), have no compression and a touch of reverb.

Reference Cables “QU4TTRO”

Novità in ambito di cablaggi per chitarra dal mondo di Reference Cables!
Sono lieto di essere il portavoce per questa nuova soluzione per il collegamento di pedaliere e amplificatori per chitarra: da tempo avevo condiviso con Reference alcune idee per ottimizzare questo genere di collegamenti e ora, con l’inizio del nuovo anno, le fantasie sono divenute realtà con il cavo multipolare “Qu4ttro”!
Photo by Egidio Vergani In un unica frusta è possibile avere tre linee audio sbilanciate con qualità affine al cavo Ric01 (il cavo che utilizzo ormai da anni come standard sia live che in studio), 1 linea di controllo che può essere configurata o come connessione Midi o come connessione jack per controllare il cambio canale dell’amplificatore combinabile ad una eventuale linea che può portare un alimentazione a bassa tensione per le pedaliere di controllo switching.
Il “Qu4ttro” permette quindi di aver una rapidità estrema nell’allestimento e una garanzia sulla stabilità e durevolezza delle connessioni dovute alla notevole cura messa da Reference nella costruzione fisica del cavo: il multipolare è infatti solidissimo e non mostra alcuna timidezza nell’essere maneggiato o calpestato! Proprio per questo va comunque tenuto in considerazione l’aspetto del peso del cavo ed è quindi importante ancorare la parte del cavo che sale verso l’amplificatore per non correre nel rischio di strozzare le parti terminali dei jack.
La colorazione della guaina è particolare perché, con la sua particolare tonalità di azzurro, è sempre visibile anche in condizioni di scarsa illuminazione: questo può essere un altro aspetto interessante perchè, nel caso di palchi poco illuminati, si potrà sempre essere in grado di identificare e maneggiare il caso (per esempio nella fase di load out).
Concludo dicendo che sono rimasto notevolmente impressionato dalla qualità audio del cavo, la timbrica e la dinamica del suono sono davvero elevati! infatti,proprio per la tipologia di realizzazione del cavo che vede tutti i conduttori fermamente ed elasticamente bloccati, sia la risposta in frequenza che il rapporto segnale/rumore (nonché la reiezione da interferenze elettromagnetiche) sono davvero di alto livello!!!

After the release of “Uranus and Gaia”, guitar player and singer Steve Angarthal turns the wheel of his solo project Angarthal towards the Blues genre, with the release of the single “Hard Times Shuffle”.
Released on 22nd November 2019 by label Asgardh Music, the song is part of a few summer recording sessions with the new line up: still on board is bass player Angelo Perini, drums are now under young talented Jody Brioschi and Hammond parts are again in Larsen Premoli hands!
This tune is released while waiting for the upcoming new Heavy Rock chapter planned for spring 2020. It sets itself as a window on a musical genre belonging to many artists and which, in the case of Steve Angarthal, has also been brought live with the show “From Mississippi to Thames”; a musical journey through the evolution of the Blues from its early stages up to the 70’s British scene.Recorded, mixed and mastered at RecLab Studios by Larsen Premoli and Steve Angarthal
