In 2003, he co-founded the metal band Fire Trails with Pino Scotto. The band released “Vanadium Tribute” (2003) and “Third Moon” (2005) and became one of the leading acts in the Italian metal scene of the time, performing at major festivals such as “Gods of Metal”, “Heineken Jammin’ Festival”, and “Agglutination”. In 2014, he earned the FLCM degree in Electric Guitar Performance from the London College of Music.
He is also active in the field of music education as a teacher at:
- Accademia di Musica Sondriese (2000–2006) – Electric and classical guitar

Since 2015, he has collaborated with the Italian brands Mezzabarba Custom Amplification, Masotti Guitar Devices, and Tcase.
In 2016, he resumed his artistic collaboration with Pino Scotto, appearing as a guest on the album “Live for a Dream” and participating in the subsequent tour.
In 2018, Nadir Music released “Eye for an Eye”, the album by Pino Scotto, on which Steve contributed as guitarist, backing vocalist, keyboardist, composer, and arranger, as well as sound engineer, and followed the related live tour until the fall of 2018.
In 2020, he contributed to Pino Scotto’s album “Dog Eat Dog”, both as the composer and guitarist of the track “Dust to Dust” and as a backing vocalist on all tracks.
He is the creator of the projects Purple Sky and “From Mississippi to Thames”. The first presents the show “The 70’s Legacy”, which revisits the 70s music period of the band Deep Purple, while the second offers a reimagining of the blues repertoire, from traditional songs to the 70s British rock blues scene.
In the spring of 2025, the new album by Pino Scotto, titled “The Devil’s Call”, will be released, with Steve Angarthal involved as producer, composer, arranger, sound engineer, and multi-instrumentalist (playing electric and acoustic guitars, bass, keyboards, mandola, ukulele, and percussion on the album).
